Communicating object group and protocols for distributed systems
نویسنده
چکیده
Distributed communicating object groups, relevant algorithms and object communication protocols are presented. The distributed communicating object group system (called DCO) is built on the basis of hierarchy group communication protocols for networks. The system can be used as a speci®cation and design environment for distributed fault-tolerant object-oriented (OO) applications. By combining distributed process group with the powerful OO concepts, the novelty of DCO lies in its provision of methodology for construction of communicating object groups, reliable communication protocols, group membership and management. The mechanisms of grouping user objects enable application objects to communicate transparently over network. Communication details implemented by underlying group multicast protocol are thus hidden from users. This makes the objects completely responsible for their modi®cation, protection, execution and communication. DCO is used to relieve application designers from diculty of designing object communication and reliability. Multiple layers of object group protocols are given and their design and implementation experiences are presented. Ó 1999 Elsevier Science Inc. All rights reserved.

An Architecture for Authorization and Delegation
Public key infrastructures and authentication protocols, in the sense they are currently known, have been publicly studied since 1978 [23]. In this work I demonstrate how I, together with the research group I have had the privilege to direct, have further developed these concepts in the Object-Oriented field. In our research, we have implemented a public key based system that allows distributed...
متن کاملObject-oriented Modelling of Communicating Gis-based Applications
Recent communication technologies (Internet, GSM, GPRS, PDA, GPS) have implied new GIS-based applications called telegeoprocessing applications [2]. This new type of systems concerns fields such as : · Internet access to geographic data using Web Map Server, · Mobile geographic databases, · Traffic monitoring. These new applications have naturally produced new needs in terms of conceptual metho...

متن کاملStructure and Encapsulation in Distributed Systems: The Proxy Principle
We present a novel view of the structuring of distributed systems, and a few examples of its utilization in an object-oriented context. In a distributed system, the structure of a service or subsystem may be complex, being implemented as a set of communicating server objects; however, this complexity of structure should not be apparent to the client. In our proposal, a client must first acquire...
متن کاملControl for Dynamic Priority Distributed Real - Time Systems
Many of today’s complex computer applications are being modeled and constructed using the principles inherent to real-time distributed object systems. In response to this demand, the Object Management Group’s (OMG) Real-Time Special Interest Group (RT SIG) has worked to extend the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) standard to include real-time specifications. This group’s most r...
